THE TURMERIC MAGIC
TURMERIC is the root stalk of a tropical plant that's part of the ginger family. It contains CURCUMIN which is a very healthy nutrient. Turmeric contains more than 300 antioxidants which makes it a very powerful healer. Turmeric is used in innumerable ways as from generations. It has lots of benefits for the skin, hair as well as health benefits. Turmeric either in raw, powdered or paste form can be used cooking and many forms of skin care.
BENEFITS OF TURMERIC
FOR SKIN
Anti -Ageing
Turmeric when applied to the skin helps in ageing. Using and applying the paste or powder before bathing is the best way to achieve this glow. It is best to apply this substance generously over the face and body and then
wait till it dries, then bath with water only.
Facial Hair Control
This is especially in the case of women because of the softness of the hair on face. Applying the turmeric powder reduces and eventually gets rid of facial hair. Getting rid of the facial hair for men is not as easy because of it's thickness. When applied, turmeric powder should be left for at most 15 minutes before scrubbing off.

Turmeric can help lighten stretch marks and even out skin tone. To achieve the desired result, it's best mixed with raw milk/yoghurt and basan.
Heals Cracked Heels
Applying turmeric powder mixed with coconut oil on your cracked heels or anywhere your skin is dry heals and softens the area.
Treats stubborn skin conditions like acne and eczema. Turmeric when mixed with sandalwood heals the acne, when mixed with milk treats eczema and when mixed with rosewater and applied helps lighten the spots in which these diseases occur.
Turmeric improves skin elasticity and it's also an antibacterial agents against burns, wounds, cuts etc.

Tired and worried about dandruff palaver? Turmeric provides a lasting solution. It controls dandruff and hair loss. Curcumin helps cure infection, itching, soothes irritating scalps. Simply mix with olive oil and apply in your scalp, leave for 15 minutes before washing it off with a shampoo. This removes the signs of dandruff by increasing the circulation in the scalp and providing nutrition to the hair follicles.
Also turmeric mixed with honey and milk help reduce negative effects on your hair generally.

The health benefits of turmeric cannot be contained. They vary in different dimension which emphasises that the turmeric plant is advisable for health purposes.

1. Curcumin helps in preventing cancer and leukemia in the body.
2. It detoxicate the liver and prevents hepatitis, jaundice etc.
3. It aids in fat metabolism and digestion that is it controls digestive disorder like constipation and gas.
4. Turmeric intake help reduce cramps during menstrual cycle.
5. Due to it's strong antioxidant activity that fights attacks against our body, turmeric helps boost the immune system.
6. The antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties of turmeric helps inflation of the brain(which causes Alzheimer's disease), development of rheumatoid arthritis.
7. Turmeric controls cholesterol level and wards off cardiovascular diseases.
8. Turmeric moderates the insulin level in the body thereby reducing the chances of diabetes.
9. Juice from turmeric plant is an antioxidant that cools the acidity disorders in the stomach that leads to ulcers. This juice also helps in strengthening and keeps the liver safe.
10. Curcumin in turmeric is a herbal formula that keeps the body toxin free.
There may however be some side effects of Turmeric consumption due to some rare cases in excessive consumption. They include Dizziness, Nausea, Stomach upset, Diarrhoea.
It is advised that consumption of turmeric should be minimal during pregnancy so as not to stimulate the uterus, putting the pregnancy at risk.
